Cusack plays Hoops McCann in this ruckus comedy that most people consider to be a gigantic bomb. I think it's actually a case of 'it's so painfully bad that it's good.' It was filmed during one of the most surreal time periods ever: the Eighties. Sometimes it is really a challenge to put ones' self back in that time warp. What was everybody thinking?
Bobcat Goldthwait had a prominent role in this film. Could that happen today? I don't know, but God Bless him anyway. Demi Moore plays a songstress trying to get her house back from a snobby family from Nantucket. Up the bizarre factor a few notches.
There are tasteless gags and nonsensical scenes that are more episodic than linear. What was the point of this movie? It makes no sense, but for some reason, any time I'm channel-surfing and it's on, I can't resist the temptation to stay tuned. I guess it just has that je ne sais quoi.
